The Scottish U17 and Senior Indoor Championships were held at the Emirates on Sunday the 26th of January. Medals were difficult to win due to the high standard of the event. A large contingent crossed the Irish sea for the competition which was extremely well attended.
Ross Morgan had an exceptional day, winning the U17 hurdles in a time of 8.27s and finishing 2nd in the Shot with a throw of 12.50m.
We had a clean sweep of the medals in the Senior Women’s 800m, where Mhairi Hendry was 1st in a time of 2:07.27, Philippa Millage was 2nd in a time of 2:08.54 and Jill Cherry was 3rd in a time of 2:10.73.
In the Senior Women’s 200m, Chloe Lambert was 3rd in a time of 24.63s.
Holly Kirkwood was 3rd in the U17W long jump with a distance of 5.62m and 3rd in the Triple Jump with a distance of 11.51m.
Mhairi Porterfield was 1st in the Senior Women’s Shot with a distance of 13.10m while her daughter Meghan (U15) was 2nd in the U17 Shot with a distance of 13.15m.
We had double success in the U17 women’s High Jump where Abbey Orr was 2nd with a height of 1.59m and Jenna Hilditch (U15) was 3rd with the same height.
